Necessary Physics, Special Crabs, and Annoying Earthquakes.

News is fun. News is cool. Blogging is more fun than school.
Have I made a rhyme?

Again, we explore 30 under 30, and ...physics.
Physics is a rather *meh* subject for me, but I can't speak for all the magical geniuses out there who are geniuses in physics.
This time around, however, physics will meet the most amazing of subject areas... environmentalism.
Huzzah!

In my experience, the more legs a creature has, the creepier it is.
Maybe that's why I love fish so much.
Anyway.
The River crab of mediterranean Europe has thrived unbeknownst to humans under the city of Rome for many years and has developed many interesting traits...including an extra set of legs.
Surprise, surprise.

Potamon fluviatile.

The San Andreas fault in California stretches over 800 miles, unfortunately for the residents.
Many Californian cities were destroyed in the Great San Francisco Earthquake (1906), and these disasters may become more frequent than previously thought.
Geologists are currently doing trench work at various sites along the fault to see if they can glean any information from evidence of past earthquakes, going further back than the 1906 earthquake.
